| It's my 22nd birthday, and I'm spending it alone, on the couch, watching TV. It's not any different than any other day. Tom didn't sleep at all last night, so he came home from work and passed out. I'm not upset with him in anyway. It just feels like my birthday is a complete waste. I never thought that I'd be spending my birthday by myself, watching Dr. Phil. Happy Birthday to me. | | |
| Wow it's been a long time since I was last on here. It's amazing how your life can become so hectic that you don't even have time to think. I'm married now. If you don't already know by now, I've put up some pictures from the ceremony. We're getting the professional ones on Saturday, so they should be up sometime next week. As to if married life is any different than being single. I can honestly say no (that is if you two are living together before the "I do" is said). However, after the ceremony, people (with manners) assume that what one does, so the other does. It's also nice to come home to your spouse at the end of a stressful day. I think falling into Tom's arms at the end of the day is my favorite thing in the whole world. There's also the unavoidable question of children. People begin to give you this expectant look (if they don't feel comfortable just straight up asking). At some point during the first month, you look at your spouse and can't believe that you're going to spend the rest of your life with them. It's a revelation that is most definitely...a blessing. Each night before you go to bed, you say this little prayer, thanking God for them. Domesticity was something that, two years ago, you couldn't have paid enough to suffer through. Somehow, finding that right person changes everything. You start to think of future plans like where you two want to end up, how you want to raise you children, and what you're going to do when things get stressful. This brings me to my next point. Don't ever think that just because your married, that things are going to be just peachy for the rest of eternity. If a marriage is going to work, both partners have to recognize that there will be times where you can't stand to look at each other. But, and this is the most important part, you just choose to stick it out, no matter what. Well.....that's all for now....guess it's time for bed. | | |
| So yeah.....I haven't written for a while. Well...we got the engagement pictures...so for any who don't already know, they are on facebook and myspace. Most of the wedding details are coming together. The main thing we have now is deciding what we want for centerpieces on the table. Most of the people who live out of town and don't know how to get to Dexter have not gotten their invitations. This is because we had to hunt down some ivory paper....which proved to be much harder than I had anticipated. We're registered at Wal-Mart and Target so far. My classes are going all right. My Anatomy class has somehow taken a turn towards extremely difficult. Of course it would be my luck that the one day I got incredibly sick was the one day I really shouldn't have missed. Oh well....it's probably like that for a lot of people. What made it so bad was I missed getting the figures we were supposed to study for a quiz...so it got a bit stressful right before it. Well...that's all I've got for now. I'll be talking at y'all later. lol | | |
| Okay, so we got a photographer now. His name is Tom Neumeyer I think. He did my sister's wedding about 12 years ago. He's so funny. When got our engagement pictures done on Saturday. They turned out really well. Once we get the CD in the mail, I'll post them on myspace and facebook for those who want to see them. | | |
| The wedding is coming along. I've got most of the reception stuff bought (minus food). Now I'm scrambling to find another bridesmaid because one is moving to New York before the wedding. One of Tom's groomsmen is leaving for basic on Monday (wasn't supposed to till January), so I don't have to find two now. My dress needs to be altered, but the woman who does all that is sick, so that will have to wait till she's well. Tom's better now....mostly. He occasionally will get nauseated a bit, but nothing major. I think he just had a bad case of stomach flu. I haven't found a photographer yet. This one lady that said she could do it never called me back about the price, so I guess she's got enough business to ignore me. So if anyone is up for it (you'll get paid) and you take really awesome pictures....WE NEED A PHOTOGRAPHER....badly. My nephew is stateside for a bit, but I think he's going back pretty soon. His wife is really sweet, she just has a really bad habit of not returning calls. Well...I'm gonna go....the laptop is getting warm and needs to be plugged in. | | |
